Former NBA Star gets slam dunked into Prison

Mr. George coming out of the Big House (Court House)

According to the US Attorney's Office in New Jersey, former NBA Basketball player with New Jersey Nets and Milwaukee Bucks, C Tate George was sentenced to 108 months or 9 years, for running a 2 million dollar ponzi scheme. See story here

He used his star status to dupe investors that their money would go into legitimate real estate investments called the George Group. Instead, the money went to line his deep pockets and to pay back earlier investors. Some investors lost all of their money based on Mr. George's misrepresentations. He went to trial and lost and was convicted. He still professes his innocence.
You will meet all kinds of persons in jail. Some will admit their crime and some will claim they are innocent. One such person who I met in FCI Fort Dix NJ Federal Prison was Marty Frankel, who plead guilty to stealing hundreds of millions of dollars by looting insurance companies.Believe it or not, he still professes his innocence.

The Feds will take anyone down. No one is beyond their reach, from an illegal alien to a corporate executive, prison doors are open for all.

What kind of lifestyle will George face in federal prison? As noted above, I am no stranger as I sat almost 43 months in seven institutions. One thing is for sure. They do have basketball courts in every prison I have been too except the local jails in Canada so George can still practice his shot.
