HSBC closed on 13th Avenue

the scene at HSBC this morning in Boro Park, Brooklyn

What happened? It was reported that thieves went through the roof and broke through the ceiling and stole money from the vault over the weekend. So the bank was closed and yellow tape blocked foot traffic in front of the back. How can this be? Was this an inside job? News reports say the alarm was broken. I assume any money stolen was FDIC protected. What about people's property? I guess you would need to contact the bank and your insurance.

Will the thieves be caught? Time will tell.  I met several bank robbers during my stay at MCC and MDC. They are very crafty people. Eventually, they get caught because they cannot stop. Usually, it is to fuel their drug urge.
