According to an article in the New York Times, Cesar Vargas, an immigrant who illegally crossed the border, was sworn in as a member of the New York Bar. He had a very difficult path and he finally made it. He must have struggled a lot. Now he must be careful to protect his law license.

I was a lawyer too. I was born in a foreign country but obtained citizenship at birth. My path was different than Mr. Vargas. I was corrupted by my clients and in the end of the day, I was thrown into prison like the biggest criminal in the world, disbarred and heavily fined. At least now I am out of prison and I have the freedom to write, thanks to google and other platforms. I hope my writing is a message of hope to all and that we all deserve a second chance as we are all human, from the same planet earth.
