Shvitzers are shvitzing

I read a story in the NY Daily News how NYPD top police brass got demoted with guns and badges being taken away in some ongoing corruption scandal.

And then to my shock and disbelief, the center of the hurricane is two frum Yidden, who were giving money, gifts and what not to top NYPD cops to curry favor from them. See article here...http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/high-ranking-nypd-disciplined-fbi-corruption-probe-article-1.2591954

The frum Haredi or whatever you want to call them, did not take to heart Pirkei Avos, where it says stay away from government because the day you need them, they will not be there for you.

I did not take that lesson to heart either, sitting 1316 days in Federal Prison for feeding the lions (govt) false information and papers on immigrants.

So what is a shvitzer? A shvitzer is a Jewish person with beard, and payos running around, talking to ten people at once, double parking on 13th avenue, all in a mile a new york minute and of course, making all kind of business deals for Chaim Yankel or Moshe Pipik.

Why are they shvitzing (sweating)? Or if not, they should be...because the article says that the FBI is investigating them for any wrong doing and of course, in a great democracy where there is a legislature sitting almost 365 days a year, criminalizing everything we do, they are sure to find a federal crime that was committed. Lucky for them there case is out of New York and not Iowa, where they would face a justice system that put away Rubashkin for 27 years.

In the above picture, I hope the food was kosher although strangely, I don't see any other yarmulkes in that picture. Worst case scenario, they ate vegetables on a treife plate with treife silverware. We all need to do teshuva. Yom Kippur can help them if it was not kosher as this is a type of sin between man and G-d.

So chas veshalom (pity and peace) if they end up in prison, they should hope to end up in the camp at Otisville, where they could do some little shvitzing by running for gabbai and that gives you a little power too.  One thing going for them is they appear to be chassidish (streimel on shabbos) and not litvish(black hatters). Litvish have not won an election in over 6 years.

There are no shortage of corrupt cops in federal prison. I met a few at MDC Brooklyn for various crimes ranging from sex crimes to extortion to home invasions.

Also, the way the feds work it, they have people testifying against each other, so who jumps online first to testify or take down a bigger fish, may get a break and then get the coveted 5k1 letter, the pass out of jail card. Well it does not always work because I met a former pharmacist in Otisville (name slipped me) who got the 5K1 but still got slammed with a 63 months sentence. So life has no guarantees.
