Audrey Munson reminds me of my aunt

Audrey Munson, in her glory days, died at 104 years old, courtesy NY Post

There is a story in NY Post how a pretty woman born in 1891 becomes New York's first super model, inspires many statues across New York and then ends up in a mental asylum at 41 years old where she dies at 104 years old. The story says she went nuts when she got caught up in a criminal case of her ex landlord who kills his wife so that he can marry Audrey. See story here...http://nypost.com/2016/03/05/nycs-first-supermodel-died-alone-in-an-insane-asylum/

Statue on top of 1 Centre Street, Manhattan is an image of Ms. Munson

my aunt, Gitel Langner

She reminds me of my aunt, Gitel, who at 28 years old, would walk around the hallways of my grandparents house and scream, "it's a hell on earth." Whenever she did that, I hid under the table.
I was around 4 years old at the time. She was pretty as a youth and she was an aspiring artist. What made her go nuts? She had a failed marriage, where the ex husband took her to Israel and dumped her over there. She then came back to Toronto, distraught and depressed.  She later remarried in the mid eighties with a man from Monsey, NY. They move out together to LA and then he dumps her. My aunt tries to reach out to my uncle to no avail. How do I know that? Since I found post cards from her, mailed from LA, begging for help. I tracked her down to an LA nursing home around 2009. I asked her questions about my life as a kid that no one would no and she answered each question so I knew it was her.

My mother was also beautiful and she died in a tragic accident when I was 14 years old, on the way to Canada for Passover.
