I guess he never read the section in Deuteronomy in Shoftim that says Judges shall not take bribes as it perverts justice.
In any even, the article says he was transferred to a federal prison. I looked it up and it says he is being released in 2035 as noted above. The man will be 85 upon being released. Basically, they gave him a death sentence.
