morning after snow storm |
New York City's Central Park got officially 26.8 inches, second to a storm that dumped 26.9 inches back in February 2006 so it was number 2 since record keeping going back to 1869.
Where we live in Brooklyn, NY, we got 29 inches of snow. Pretty impressive figures.
It snowed just over 25 hours, starting Friday night and ending Saturday night, 1-23-16, around 10 PM.
The historic storm was named Jonas and it dumped record snow in the mid Atlantic to northeast regions of the USA. It killed at least 14 people that included accidents and heart attacks from shoveling snow.
Now starts the cleanup and the way New York weather works with snow, it will probably be gone in a few days from melting. It was a nice memory while it lasted.
Unfortunately, snow is dangerous and my mother was killed in a snow squall while driving to Toronto erev pesach back in April 1978. Nonetheless, I still love to watch and play in the snow. You just need to respect mother nature.
