7 California residents charged with national home loan mortgage modification scheme

An indictment was returned against seven California residents, including Aria Maleki, for operating a boiler room home loan mortgage modification scheme. It is alleged that these individuals preyed on desperate homeowners, promising some of them that their modifications were approved but it was all a lie. They charged up front between 2500 and 4300 and they promised full refunds but few if any, received refunds. Most were cheated out of their money and that is most likely why these guys were taken down by the feds. See story here.....http://www.justice.gov/usao-ct/pr/seven-california-residents-charged-operating-boiler-room-mortgage-loan-modification

The names in the indictment sound immigrant, especially Iranian and Asian. In any event, these people will now face the wrath of the federal government. All of their pleasure in taking people's money will quickly vanish and they will regret what they did to people. It will haunt them for the rest of their lives. What's going to happen next will be interesting. Some of the seven may work with the feds to prosecute others. Meaning, if one person makes a deal with them to plead guilty, he/she would agree to testify against the others and he/she would get a 5K1 deal and then he may only get probation. Usually, the top person gets hit the hardest. However, there are exceptions. If the top guy can bring down bigger people, then it is possible for him/her to get a break. If they all go trial and lose, they will all get hammered.

I believe that I found online information about the mastermind, Aria Maleki, and it says he is a real estate agent in California. See copy of websites above.

I am no stranger to federal prison since I sat 1316 days. To see what they may expect, read here...
