How to reduce a Federal Prison Sentence

Once you are sentenced it is pretty difficult to get a federal prison sentence reduced, and it is actually nearly impossible. There are motions which I believe are called 2441 and 2555. You must start pre sentence. The laws which discuss how to get a sentenced reduced are found at 18 USC 3553.

I signed a plea for 78 to 97 months and in the end of the day, I received a 60 months sentence although my lawyer told me I would likely receive a 48 months sentence. I base the lower sentence to the sentencing letter and evidence that was submitted before my actual sentence.
