Prominent Doctor and author arrested for sexual assaults

David H. Newman, accused of sexual assaults 

A story appeared in the NY Daily News about a David Newman who was arrested over two sexual assaults of patients at Mount Sinai hospital, where he ejaculated on the face of one female, and groped another one's breasts. It said he was a prominent author so I looked him and found a doctor named David H. Newman.

I googled more and confirmed that it was him from a New York Times story that actually gave his full name as Dr. David H. Newman  and that he was the author of Hippocrates Shadow, a book about improving doctor patient relationships.

The article says he has a wife. She must be devastated. All for a few seconds of illusory pleasure. Two women already came forward. Sad story. The women he allegedly assaulted will forever be mentally damaged by his actions. How can they ever trust a doctor again, let alone a male doctor?  

I remember when I was a kid I was used to visit a prominent doctor in Toronto who had an iguana and later on in life I found out he was not a doctor anymore after sexually assaulting patients.

As I also sat in Federal Prison for a white collar crime, I was no stranger to meeting all kind of sexual perverts. I came across these individuals in FCI Fort Dix, home of the chomo, the sexual offenders who comprise an estimated 20 percent of the population. I met Dr. Lackner, a dentist, married with children,  accused of sexually assaulting a female patient and got a 15 year sentence, a Mr. Even Zauder, (formerly engaged) a former teacher in a Yeshiva who received a 13 year sentence, Royce Deweese, (married with children) serving a 9 year sentence and Mr Jerchower, (divorced), serving a 23 year sentence. To my surprise, most of these individuals will not discuss their case and some even walk around with an air of arrogance. I also met former NYPD sergeant Alberto Randazzo, who is sitting at MDC Brooklyn. He was my bunki at 7 North before I went to Otisville. He appears to be remorseful.

This story shows us that no matter how intelligent we are, how advanced we are in society, one stupid action can destroy our life and the life of others. And no one is immune from this type of behavior.
We are all human and we must control ourselves.

What is scary about these kind of criminals is that they face constant danger of being assaulted in prison. Not a week went by that you heard or witnessed an attack against a sexual offender.
