3 branch snowflake |
I read in the NY Times that the ratio of snow to rain is 1 to 10, or every inch of rain equals 10 inches of snow.
If you look at the letters of snow based on the Hebrew Alphabet, you see the same 1 to 10 sequence.
How? In Hebrew , snow is called Sheleg, a shin, whose value is 300, a lamed, whose value is 30, and a gimel, whose value is 3. Each letter is 10 times the next one.
The English word , slog, comes from the Hebrew word sheleg.
It is interesting to note that the letters of snow in Hebrew are all derivatives of the number 3, as noted above. If you see the pictured snowflake, it branches to 3 parts.
Moreover, the first letter, the shin, in Hebrew, is comprised of three parts, the lamed is comprised of three parts and so is the gimel.
The Gematria of snow is 333, which represents many particles. Of course, just witness snow coming down and who can count them?
A story came out in the weather channel where Ari Sarsalari stated that one should not eat snow since it absorbs pollutants. No wonder snow also equals mei raglayim, or urine.
Remember, Hebrew letters are the language of nature and it gives us powerful insights into the nature of the word.
Talking about Hebrew and nature, is a snow storm an act of God? We see elderly people who will get hurt and break bones, we witness cars spinning out of control and people dying. A blizzard is expected to hit Washington and New York City. A blizzard is similar to a hurricane as it is a rotating storm with very strong winds. What does God have to do with it?
