In a bizarre story that is horrifying and sad to read about, a husband who is also a lawyer allegedly stabs to death his wife, a pediatrician,  in the shower, although newspaper reports say that the husband had defensive wounds. You drive by this house in envy and you say, "wow, look at this multi million dollar home" and then you read about the stabbing and death of a woman by her very own husband in that very same  home and you are just shocked. The article in failed messiah says they are Orthodox Jewish attending Young Israel of  Scarsdale..

The guy is a brilliant person. A lawyer and tax specialist.  How could such a person snap? What does this tell us about successful people? It tells us that we are only human, subject to human failings that can lead to murder. Does the Torah address this? Yes, in the Ten commandments it says don't commit adultery and then, don't commit murder. Why are they next to each other? Because one leads to the other. See Exodus 20:13. Listen, I have no information what went wrong in the Reich household but obviously something terribly happened and who is to blame for it? Mr. Reich himself? His murdered wife? Could society have stopped it? Could their family or child(ren) stopped it?

Unfortunately, I know personally two persons who killed their wives. One , a Yakov Benshimon, who hacked his wife to death on erev yom kippur about 15 years ago. He is sitting in an upstate New York prison.

I did some immigration preparation and filing on behalf of his wife, Rivka who was one of the most quietest person's on the planent. I was saddened but not shocked about her death since her husband, Ben Simon, is a mad man and he was a time bomb waiting to explode.

I also knew a world war II survivor, named Mr. Vesely, who I davened (prayed) next to in the Markham street shul in downtown Toronto, who hammered to death his wife and then killed himself around 2002. He was around 87 years old at the time of the suicide murder. My friend David Setelbach, another holocaust survivor who recently passed away, remarked to me that Mr. Vesly asked him to come to his house the morning of the murders. He was happy he did not go as maybe the guy would have killed him too. I remember sitting in shul next to Mr. Vesly and he used to say that his children were nazis. I guess he had a lot of anger and rage brewing in his head. I remember that Mr. Vesly's son refused to give his father a proper funeral but cremated him, against the wishes of the shul Rabbi, Yosi Holtzberg.
I remember Rabbi Holtzberg quoting the son, who said, "How can I bury my father if he killed my mother?"
