Putnam Valley, NY man indicted over 17 million dollar pump and dump scheme

According to the US Attorney's Office, New Jersey, Guy Gentile, 39 years old, was allegedly manipulating stocks to the tune of $17.2 million in gross trading proceeds. See story here....https://www.justice.gov/usao-nj/pr/new-york-man-indicted-17-million-microcap-stock-manipulation-scheme.

The stock promoters , Itamar Cohen and Michael Taxon of Ontario, Canada already plead guilty in this scheme.

Perhaps if Mr. Gentile decides to go to trial and fight the charges, the government may use these two characters as witnesses against him. Remember, the feds do their homework. They don't charge someone with a crime unless they can nail the person, like they nailed me.

As noted in the article above, he stated the new brokerage "aims to be largest dealer in six months". Of course when you game and cheat the system you will rise to the top but the feds are there to take you down. His resume at https://www.linkedin.com/in/guygentile looks impressive. Sometimes it works against you. He faces up to 20 years on the securities charge. How much time will he get? It depends. If he takes it to trial and loses, he will get hammered. If he wins at trial, he walks away. If he cops a plea, the feds will look at the sentencing guideline and see how much he actually made and then the probation will give their recommendation, the US attorney will give their recommendation, the defense attorney will recommend probation or no jail time and then the judge will decide. Usually, the judge sides with the prosecutor. The only way he reduces his prison sentence if he gets into the RDAP program.
