In this week's Torah reading, we learn about the plagues that were sent against Pharaoh and his people for not freeing the children of Israel.
We see a link with this Torah reading and the story of Purim. How? The word is ve'nehepuchu, which means turned around. The word was used to describe the changing of water to blood. The same word is found in Esther, where the word describes the change of events for the Jews of Iran.
The Gematria of this term is 167. There are 167 verses in Megilas Esther . The Gematria of Hashem Elokeinu Hashem Echad, which is part of the Shema, is also 167. This teaches us the unity of God in this world and our universe.
