Al Capone went to Alcatraz |
Starting the new year, the last thing we want to think about is taxes. However, the reality is that taxes are a part of our lives and the ones who evade them, end up in the slammer. For the famous ones who made it to the big house, see http://www.azcentral.com/news/free/20130412famous-people-convicted-tax-evasion-prog.html
I am no stranger to tax evaders as I met one at the Don Jail in Toronto. He said that in his youth he was a Canadian army ranger and then got involved in escort agencies out of Oshawa, Ontario, which are legal in Canada. He got 1 year imprisonment for an $800,000 tax evasion bill. He served 8 months as you only do 66 percent. I wish I did all of my time in Canada and I would have been home a lot earlier.
