Bank Robber may get slammed

Nicholas Avitto (r.), the father of 6-year-old stabbing victim P.J. Avitto, faces 10 to 12 years in prison for a stickup of the Sovereign Bank in Brooklyn Heights.

A story is out of the NY Daily News where it says that a Brooklyn Bank robber by the name of Nicholas Avitto may get slammed at sentencing. The prosecutors, who in my opinion run the show, want the judge to give him the sentencing guideline of 10 to 12 years.

Mr. Avitto wants sympathy since his six year old son was murdered.  See story here...http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/brooklyn/feds-brooklyn-bank-robber-face-maximum-article-1.2538105

Prosecutors are upset with him since he allegedly threatened a witness and when that came to light, his bail was revoked. He is now sitting in MDC Brooklyn, as noted above.  His lawyer claims he is always drunk and incapable of threatening anyone. His lawyer hopes he gets a break based on extraordinary circumstances. Do you think he should get any sympathy? I personally would give him a break. Believe it or not, I met bank robbers in prison and they are not all bad people. Some of them have drug issues and what not.

So how is life at MDC Brooklyn? I was there twice during my 1316 days of hell through the B.O.P. for a white collar crime. To read about MDC and the other house of horrors I passed through, read my story here...http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011GTWLOG
