In video from Israel today, we watch former PM Ehud Olmert entering prison to begin his 19 month prison sentence. He will be kept away from general population due to his former status and potential danger and threats to his life. In America, what you can expect are different, at least the jails I was in. In Israel, it says he will be wearing street clothing, while in Federal prison you wear greens, khaki or orange uniform or jumpsuit. In Israel it says he will be allowed out for funerals, weddings and religious ceremonies. In USA, the only way you can get a furlough is, generally, if in you are in a camp and you have less than two years to go.
The most difficult time to adjust is entering and leaving prison. When you enter prison the most humiliating part is stripping naked where the guards check your'e naked body out to make sure you are not bringing in contraband.
