Defrauding the I.R.S. leads to an indictment against mother and son

According to the US Attorney out of Denver, Colorado, a mother and son were indicted for defrauding the Internal Revenue Service. See story here...http://www.justice.gov/usao-co/pr/mother-and-son-indicted-conspiracy-defraud-irs

Basically, they allegedly filed false tax returns to get refunds. They applied for 2 million dollars and actually received $300,000.00 . The names of the indicted are  Jaquon Mucsarney, Schosche Mucsarney and co-conspirator, Sherry Charleston.

They each face up to 20 years in prison for the mail fraud charge, defrauding the government is up to ten years in prison, false claims up to five years imprisonment, and aggravated identity theft is two years minimum and with fines of 250,000 per count. At the end of the day, the trio will definitely regret stealing from the US Government.  The government will extract from them every penny they stole.

If they contest the charges and take the government to trial, they will get hammered. Their best bet is to take a plea. In my opinion, they will definitely sit in jail the only question is for how much time.
Based on the dollar amount, I would estimate between 2 and 5 years since one of the charges has a minimum of two years.
