Dr. Henry Lora plead guilty to Healthcare Fraud

Dr. Henrry Lora

According to the US Attorney's Office, Southern District of Florida, a medical doctor by the name of
Dr. Henry Lora plead guilty to healthcare fraud and is now awaiting sentencing.  The government says it lost 20 million dollars in this scam. See article here...http://www.justice.gov/usao-sdfl/pr/miami-physician-pleads-guilty-role-20-million-health-care-fraud-scheme

The doctor, as noted above from an article I found online, obtained his medical degree from Santo Domingo and has been practicing medicine for many years. Unfortunately, now with this plea he will most likely lose his license to practice medicine and he may face prison time.

What was his crime? For taking kickbacks and bribes, he wrote prescriptions for unnecessary medical health care or services. The owner of the clinic was sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment. Dr. Lora was the medical director of the clinic. So how much time will he sit? Will he get probation? In  my opinion, it all depends on his level of cooperation. If he gets a 5k1 letter, he may get probation. If he just took a plea without the 5k1 letter he may do some serious time. Florida is tough on crime. I have noticed that defendants receive more time coming out of Florida than New York.

Jerome Feldman, MD, doing time in Fort Dix, NJ

This case reminded me of another doctor from Florida. I met Dr. Jerome Feldman, who got a 15 year sentence for healthcare fraud out of Miami for running HIV clinics and falsely billing medicaire. See his story here....http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2010/05/former_doctor_imprisoned_16_ye.html and here...http://www.psychsearch.net/psychiatrist-sells-non-existent-body-parts/
Some people in Fort Dix questioned if he was even a doctor. They thought he was a chomo. Why? Because he is a small unassuming man. It is hard to believe he was such a scammer and monster. He claims that he saved lives.  He has a big buddha tatoo on his arm and came to synagogue during the holidays. The inmate in charge of the synagogue did not think he was even Jewish. He says he was born in the Bronx, NY and that his mother lived till 105. He confided in me that he has a Philipino wife and he showed me a picture. It looks like a picture cut out of a magazine. Back in 2013-2014, when I was at Fort Dix, he told me he hoped to get a job at Unicor so he could send money back to his wife in the Philippines who he did not hear from in over three months. The man will be 80 years old when he comes out prison. I don't think he poses a threat to anyone anymore. He has been definitely defanged. Besides, he lost his voice. I can imitate him pretty good.  Also, the picture above shows him with a wig. He is really totally bald.

If Dr. Lora will have to do time, this is what he can expect... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011GTWLOG
