A story came out of the US Attorney's office in Seattle , Washington of an I.R.S. agent who was convicted of soliciting a bribe from a pot shop. He tried to shake down the owner for $20,000.00
He said he needed the money because he was living pay check to pay check. See story here ...http://www.justice.gov/usao-wdwa/pr/jury-convicts-former-irs-revenue-agent-accepting-bribe and another story from local media ....http://komonews.com/news/local/former-irs-agent-convicted-of-soliciting-bribe-from-seattle-pot-shop

Maybe the agent was telling the truth, that he was living paycheck to  paycheck. But how can be so stupid and foolish to solicit a bribe which is a ticket to jail? What was he thinking that the owner won't go and rat him out?  He should have sought professional help. Maybe he should have changed his life style. When the government found out about the bribery request, the FBI swooped in and gave the owner marked bills to give the agent and he fell for the bait. So why would he take his case to trial? Did he plea insanity?  He is now facing up to 15 years upon sentencing and he may get hammered because he went to trial by jury.
