According to BBC News, David Cameron has announced that prison reform is coming to the United Kingdom. See full article here...http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-35518477

It does not say what will be done, but some sort of reforms will affect new moms and pregnant moms. It will also more assist prisoners with rehabilitation.

This is a positive step as prisoners are human beings and need a second chance. Maybe the individual fell on hard times and did something bad to alleviate the situation. Maybe the person is a good soul but got caught up with bad people. Each person must be judged on an individual basis with the idea that each human being can improve, either on his or her own or with the help of the authorities.

In the U.K, you do 50 percent of the sentence. In the United States, you do 87.5 percent of the sentence. The US is woefully behind the U.K. in that respect alone, yet alone other programs.

I propose that the United States, and in particular the Congress amend the time one must serve from 87.5 percent to 50 percent. Trust me, as one has been through the system, you don't need to sit 87.5 percent of the time. I got the message from the first day the handcuffs went on and even before, when the feds raided my former office. Going through prison is tremendous stress and trauma. It is pure punishment with no sort of rehabilitation.  Remember, we are only human like you.
